Married to a successful business woman, Kim has become impotent and only starts to overcome his affliction by sleeping with Myeong-ja. For her part, Myeong-ja demands that, as Kim has taken her virginity, he must now take care of her. So begins Kim’s double life, as he divides his time between his wife and his lover—until Mrs. Kim decides to take matters into her own hands. Tortured triangles were something of a Kim Ki-young specialty, but especially distinctive here is the treatment of the two female leads, each ambitious in surprising ways.
