Dance on Camera presents film critic/programmer Armond White and his new look at how pop video artists preserve the dance tradition while creating new ways of moving, grooving and art-making. Through clips and commentary, this program traces dance back to the future –– from soundstage to the street, including the era-defining movements of Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Madonna and others. White surveys how Hollywood musical choreographers inspired new generations of disciplined and eye-dazzling pop dance and shows how these artists use dance for powerful personal expression.
