Don Cheadle joins the Film Society onstage to preview his new film Talk to Me and reminisce on a prolific career in and around Hollywood.
Tuesday, July 10: 7
Admission: $30 general public; $25 FSLC members & students
No matter what movie he’s in, what kind of character he’s playing, or how big a part he has, Don Cheadle brings the screen alive with his grace, his open-hearted humanity and eloquence, and his prodigious talent. Equally at home with comedy, melodrama, action, and tragedy, Cheadle is one of the most exciting actors in modern cinema. He raises the bar even higher as the legendary Washington soul DJ (and ex-con) who became the voice of his explosive era Petey Greene in Kasi Lemmons’ new film Talk to Me (US, 2007; 118m). It’s a complex and infectiously exciting performance. After the screening, Mr. Cheadle will be joining Kent Jones, associate director of programming at the Film Society, for a conversation about Talk to Me and about his exemplary career.
