Golden Silents

Toons, Tunes and Trikfilms from NYU
Admission: $15 general, $12 members, $10 students and children

This year’s edition of Toons, Tunes & Trikfilms offers 12 new films made by animation and live-action students at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Undergraduate and Graduate Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, matched to live performances of original music scores by student and instructor composers in NYU Steinhardt School’s Film Scoring Program. Also new to the program this year are two songs from students in the NYU Tisch Musical Theater Writing Program. Among the visual and aural delights are Zoya Baker's elegiac Reunited, with a score composed by Ira Newborn, Steinhardt Film Scoring faculty member, known for his scores for The Naked Gun  and Ferris Bueller's Day Off; and Jane Nechayevsky's hilarious computer-animated Dinner at Marvin's, with a musical score by Myungsoo Shin, a graduate Film Scoring major.

The scores will be performed live by eleven musicians from the Steinhardt Instrumental Performance Program. Artistic Directors are NYU professors John Canemaker and Ron Sadoff.
