Call him the poet of self-deprecation, or a conductor in the funhouse we call life. At the moment, you might just want to say that Charlie Kaufman is The Man. With Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Kaufman has written his name in bold across the canvas of modern cinema. Every film that bears his name, no matter who the director, has been a knockout, alternately funny, moving, inventive, and beguiling.

In conversation with Film Comment's Gavin Smith and Kent Jones, Kaufman will discuss the art, the business and the life, and how the three intersect. His reclusive brother and writing partner Donald will be there in spirit.
